About the pension
Our pension Taitaa at Mataura
Pension Taitaa is built in a large garden only 800 meters from the lagoon and island’s main village of Mataura. Nearby are stores, places to eat and a bank. Pension TAITAA is named after the highest peak of the island with reaches a height of 422 meters.
The owner of the Pension, Nariiorono, will host you on his native island with his wife Nathalie. They take great pride in their island and Nariiorono will be pleased to share his talents and experiences as an dancer and wood carver.
Pension Taitaa is the location of the home where Nariiorono was raised and has recently undergone a complete renovation. The pension has 5 separate rooms each with a private bathroom, fan, mosquito net, and terrace overlooking the garden.
Nathalie who is a pastry chef can prepare fresh pastries upon request. For breakfast you can taste freshly picked fruit, homemade jams, juice and yogurt. When not exploring the island, you can enjoy the pension’s large garden dotted with fruit trees or relax in front of the TV and play board games
